Spiritual Queries

Kriyacharya Jyoti answers queries by seekers. She has been instrumental in bringing the practices of Yogiraj Siddhanath to Australia. She is a disciple of Yogiraj practicing the Kriya since 1998 in this life.

Q1. Eligibility (to receive Kriya Diksha from Yogiraj), of a seeker who is a Saadhak of Sri Vidya Upaasana (Bhakti Yoga) already having a Guru.

Jyoti : Seekers can have initiation/empowerment into separate streams of practice by teachers/Satguru of that particular practice and sincerely put in effort on that path. Often dictated by their samskars and inclination/nature one path may take precedence over others and rest will follow or fall away. That is the law of nature that an advanced seeker will carry on from where they left off in their past life on a particular path.

Q2. A seeker who is also a Kriyaban of Yogoda of Paramhansa Yogananda.

Jyoti: Since the spark of Empowerment is brought alive by a living master the disciple and the master find each other in every lifetime. Yogiraj is one such master, taking the Kriya from him is akin to that from Lahiri Mahamaya, Sri Yukteswar Giri or Yogananda directly. Many disciples who are with him now ‘know’ they have been with one of the above masters in the lineage in past lives, a familiarity that goes beyond. The practice gets rekindled as the living spark is transferred by anugraha, the Masters Pran entering the atom of the disciple and an impetus is given in the movement towards Self Realisation.

Q3: My question arises from a generality and also Gurunath’s video that a seeker should not have more than one guru but must stick to one spiritual path.

Jyoti: This advice becomes more relevant as the sadhak matures on the spiritual path. As focus of dharana becomes more concentrated the disciple finds it more conducive to walk on the one path that suits him/her most. A choice that is dictated by many factors and comes naturally without intellectual debate or deliberations. Disciples who are connected with a Satguru/Master deeply do not seek elsewhere, the mind is so focused that it does not waver from the practice or the Guru. Sincere disciples are guided to the Living Master, who can best help in the evolution of their soul, from life to life. Often on the path they have already been treading, the ease with which they flow into the path will indicate the lifetimes of practice put into it.

Q4: Also, I note that Shakti pat, Prana Pat, Shiva Pat (Kriya Initiation) will be included in the Satsang on 9th Nov, then what is Empowerment Event on the 10th and who is it for?

Jyoti: Yogiraj transmits 24/7 and everyone is welcome to connect with that grace for their own spiritual flowering. The seeker can connect even when not in the physical presence of Yogiraj, disciples are attuned to do this from anywhere on the globe. So while the audience is given the transmissions it may not be possible for all of them to make the connection all the time once they are away, hence the second anugraha which seals the connect between the master and the disciple at an individual level giving them a higher level of support in ther individual practice.

Q5: Do disciples need to have a desire for enlightenment in order to meet the Satguru? And do Satgurus desire lifetimes of connection with their disciples? When does the journey begin for the disciple?
Jyoti:  Is it a conscious desire or a natural flow towards evolution? Is it desire that propels the lotus towards light hence it rises up from the slush through water towards the sun or a natural impetus?
I think as Yogiraj often says once we, the soul, have had all the pleasures and satisfied all desires, sort of been there and done that then the soul wants to rest and return home. You can see this by how easy it is for some people to detach and not others, they have just been at it longer and also easier to detach from some things not others…the practice helps in this process of disengagement.
As Satgurus appear as guides we connect with them or not depending on the stickiness of our desires and how deeply entrenched they are, but hey, as lifetimes roll by the stickiness becomes less and less and we the soul more and more able to connect with the Satguru and move towards divinity. Of course there are many a fall, slip and sinking back till we rise again.
Every time someone achieves enlightenment the whole universe gets a spiritual boost and that moment can be the start for millions of souls from rock to human. An impetus to our evolutionary journey. How beautiful!!
I don’t think the Satgurus have any desires for lifetimes of connections, they just appear. The disciple like the moth flock to the light or as Yogiraj says the iron filing comes closer to the magnet, the Satguru. It’s all a flow..natural.
These are very interesting discussions. And there can be many explanations, it’s what speaks to your heart. The best times we have at our centre is after our class over a cuppa. The cobwebs covering our faculty of discrimination is removed through swadhyaya…self study.
Our one fear maybe we will miss the moksha boat, but this is one boat that will not sail without us.
